Laggies retains the feel of her largely improvised earlier work, but the script, by first-time scribe Andrea Seigel, gives the film a structure that prevents it from meandering. LAGGIES is a well-made movie with the story, pacing and acting executed relatively smoothly. However, the plot is driven by immoral behavior, and the unnecessary use of sexual references and excessive profanities. So, LAGGIES wouldn’t be suitable for most media wise viewers of any age due to its sexual, alcohol and language content. Laggies felt like it was headed down a path to relive a lot of the same tropes as other movies in this genre, and that typically means I will find the main character obnoxious and annoying. Yet, I kept being surprised by this movie.
